Puszcza Bia這wieska got into the history mainly as an area of
hunting. Thanks to it, it preserved its rich natural advantages to a
considerable degree, because it was subject to a special protection
for being the place of hunting…
The kings’ visits are today commemorated, for instance, with royal
oak trees at the road from Bia這wie瘸 to Narewka and the Stara
Bia這wie瘸 range, where the hunting manor house of Zygmunt Stary
used to be located. Keepsakes of the hunting from the Sas times
include a boulder in the Palace Park in Bia這wie瘸 and an ornamental
obelisk commemorating the hunting of August III. A wooden hunting
manor house of the Tsar Alexander II continues to be the most
splendid monument of the hunting architecture there. It can be also
visited in the Palace Park. We can also see remains of the palace of
the Tsar Alexander III damaged during the last war.
A special attention should be paid to the orthodox church in
Bia這wie瘸 with an original porcelain iconostas. Moreover, the
museum of folk constructions and a well preserved group of wooden
constructions at the main street can be also admired there.
